I played your original prototype which I enjoy- so I already like the concept and was the right amount of challenge but this one is way to hard- the issue is you don't earn enough money to hire/heal your team. So when that happens, even if I had unlimited continues, I simply don't have enough money to win. I beat the first few levels but due to the low payout it got boring quickly because I couldn't move forward.
Am I missing something? If I am, I'd give it another go.

Rarykos responds:

Mmm you're right. I'm working on a fix now. Tomorrow I'll release an update, fixing some bugs and changing the structure a bit. Balancing money was my biggest challenge here. It's difficult to get right. So thank you for your opinion and your time! I'm adding it to the list of changes needed.

I can see how this would be fun on a smartphone but the controls are terrible for a computer. Map them to the keyboard and this will fix everything.

Prox276 responds:

I will add smartphone controls today

One of the best and unique puzzle games I've played while. Good level of challenge and intriguing visual story. This is a game you'll sit and play all 30 levels....and enjoy it. It's nice that there is no timer and no score- just figure out the puzzle. I dig the trippy music as well- very fitting for the game.

Rarykos responds:

Nice! Thank you!
Whelp, it was intended as a chill out game. I think this demo works for a single evening, the deluxe edition lasts like 4 hours. :o

You die too easily and the Num 5 reboot option doesn't work.

Newshield responds:

Yes, yes it does. You know the Reboot option only works if you make it to the next area where the game will tell you, "REBOOT UNLOCKED!" You can't use that option if the option has not became available yet. Thanks for the review.

This game is unreasonably hard to the point of losing the fun. I initially though that would be ok because you had shop so I could up grade the ship but the achievements are much too difficult and you need to achieve way too many just get enough point for even one upgrade.
Suggestion: Allow the ship to take few hits before dying, earn points a different way so that you can upgrade the ship.

13rice responds:

The difficulty is increasing through the party, it needs a bit of pratice at start
Tips : pick-up same items each time to improve the ship fastly, ie power-up > power-up > power-up, or shield > shield > shield, same for the secondary weapons, they are deadly at level 2 and 3 !

The shield and the power-up give you life. Bombs also remove all bullets on the screen, it can save your life multiple times !

Unfortunately this game is not meant to be easy, i'm sad you dislike it for this reason (like a flappy bird in some way).

Add arrow key controls. Also add a key to shoot missiles as currently you have to click the onscreen button with the mouse which doesn't make sense due to the fact that the mouse also control the ship movement. This is just a poor remake at this time but you could turn it into something much better. Add bosses, levels, more than 3 types of enemies, power ups etc. Currently it is missing everything that make this type of game fun.

sentinelatlastradema responds:

also the game need a pause button

Awesome.....this game brings back memory of Sonic

So after reading the review of the guy below me. I didn't experience many of the issues that he experience such has freezing in the swim level and getting stuck in the corner. I wish you could stomp on your enemies or something. As I said, this game remind me of Sonic the Hedgehog, I keep feeling that when I get up to speed running I should be able to roll through the enemies with some sort of fancy pants attack like you were able to roll through enemies in Sonic.

The game play was very smooth and enjoyable, the controls were a bit loose but I think that was on purpose because they fit the game well in general.

Improvements: I'm not really clear why I am able to jump through the bottom of all platforms. It make the game too easy. It would be much more challenging to have to wall jump, flip etc to get around them. It is ok to be able to jump through some but many times it didn't even seem intuitive to jump through them as I was the challenge of as I said wall jump and flip around them.
At any rate, great game and I look forward to playing the finished product.

DrNeroCF responds:

Hold down to slide, of you're sliding fast enough you can plow through baddies, hold down while on a slope, or landing while going backwards to roll, again, I'd you're going fast enough, you'll go through baddies. I'm not sure what you mean about not being able to stomp baddies, though. If you hold down or jump, you even get a boost!

Very interesting thoughts about the platforms, though. Later levels do have more solid walls and less platforms, though, I think you'll enjoy the extra challenge later in the game.

A real let down

This game was a real let down for me. I love the concept. I have been play iterations of games like this for 2 decades and this one look like a cool original version. Sadly the game is sooooo slow I can't play it. Now this game is NOT lagging so that is not what I mean by slow. It take the opposing computer controlled player so long to shoot I got bored. This is a game that should be quick but it is just opposite. If you can speed this up a lot I would play this game otherwise it is simply to painful to wait for the computer to move.

box10 responds:

The time the AI use to shoot is because they are searching for a viable shot, we can't speed that up. We made it so if they don't shoot within 10 seconds, then they skip their turn.

Boring, lack of gameplay and laaaaaaaaag

If you actually want to play through this you better get some beer and popcorn or catch up on your homework. This game is slow(I ended it very quickly because of this) Gameplay was pointless and simply not fun. Don't waste your time with this one.

14hourlunchbreak responds:

It works fine on my computer. :|
Anyway, I'm sorry if you didn't find it amusing.

Not original at all BUT a nice remake

This a is a great copy and I don't say this with sarcasm. Nintendo pioneered this game to a much higher level with the Kirbie game on Nintendo DS. So no, this game is not orignal but it is a great alternative if you don't own a nintendo DS

Kenney responds:

Ofcourse, originality in Flash games should stick under Flash games, you can't compare a Flash game to a DS game...
